SURRY POWER STATION UNITS 1 AND 2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR 10 CFR 73.55(e)(1) EXEMPTION REQUEST In our submittal dated December 11, 1986 (Serial No.86-768), Virginia Electric and Power Company requested exemption to the final rule of 10 CFR 73.55(e)(1).
This portion of the rule requires protection of onsite secondary power supply systems for alarm annunciator equipment and non-portable communications equipment as vital.
Our December 11, 1986 submittal stated that we would provide a cost study for implementing any of the three alternatives we had identified to fully meet the intent of the rule.
This information is provided in Attachment 1.
Our cost study supports our position. This cost is significantly in excess of that contemplated when the regulation was adopted.
The material enclosed herewith contains Safeguards Information as defined by j
10 CFR 73.21 and its disclosure to unauthorized individuals is prohibited by Section 147 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
