, Modification No.1 Page 2 of 3 This modification is issued to (1) exercise the first option year; (2) modify the period of performance for both the base year and the first option year; (3) increase the contract ceiling by $325,233 from

$233,403 to $558,636; (4) provide funding in the amount of $100,000; (5) add 2 pages to the Section C - Description / Specifications / Statement of Work clarifying the effort to be accomplished in the first option year; and (6) change the name of the NRC project officer. The contract is therefore modified as follows:

1) Under Section B.3, Consideration and Obligation-Cost Reimbursement (JUN 1988)

Altemate I (JUN 1988) paragraph (f) is deleted in its entirety and the following paragraph is substituted in lieu thereof:

"(f) The amount presently obligated by the Government with respect to this contract and the first option year is $333,403."

2) The attached one (1) page describing the new test series is hereby incorporated as part  !'

of Section C, specifically to be added after subsection C.4,4 Test Series S: Experiment Scenarios to Provide PTS Data.

3) In accordance with Section 1.552.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract (MAR 1989) NRC hereby exercises Option Year No.1 of this contract revising Section F.7, Duration of Contract Period (MAR 1987) Alternate 2 (MAR 1987), as follows:

"This contreet shall commence on the 02/01/99 and will expire 6 months later on 07/31/99.

The first option year shall commence on 08/01/99 and will expire 12 months later on 07/3.1/00. The term of the contract may be extended at the option of the Govemment for 3 additional one-year option periods." ,

ATTACHMENT 1 Modification to NRC Contract No. 04-99-040

1. Contractor shall undertake Test Series 2, Fluid-Fluid Mixing and Thermal Stratification, and Test Series 3, Experiment Scenarios to Provide PTS Data, under the first year option.

Estimated Level of Effort: 24 man-months

2. Contractor shall deliver a camera-ready report for NUREG/CR publication of test results in both paper and compact disk (CD) forms.
