Dear Ms. Wright,
Edlow International Company hereby requests a specific license, valid for a period of two years from the date of issue to import uranium ore concentrate of South African origin.
The quantity desired under this license is 500,000 kilograms of uranium as uranium are concentrate (U 0 ).
The material will be converted 38 to uranium hexafluoride by U.S.
conversion companies, with subsequent enrichment traing provided by the U.S. Department of Energy under existing contracts, or exported to a European enrichment facility.
The end use of this material will be in approved, light water power reactors located in the Euratom community, Japan, Taiwan or Korea.
The date of the proposed importation is March 1987.
