Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Generic Letter 87-02 Gentlemen:

The recently issued Generic Letter 87-02; Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating

Reactors, Unresolved Safety Issue A-46, requested licensees to provide a

schedule for implementation of the seismic verification program at their facility following the guidance contained in the Generic Letter.

We became aware that the NRC issued this Generic Letter through our architect / engineer.

We have not yet received this Generic Letter through the normal NRC distribution methods.

This letter is to advise you that the Licensing Section at Beaver Valley requested and received a copy of this Generic Letter from our NRC Project Manager on April 14, 1987.

As such, we intend to provide our response no later than June 12,

1987, sixty days following receipt.

We have occasionally had similar difficulties in the past with Generic Letter distribution.

We suggest that you may want to consider using the same service list and distribution procedures that are now being used for IE Bulletins and Information Notices.
