Background:

On July 10, 1985, the Comission by a 4-0 vote,(Commissioner Roberts did not participat because he had not been sworn in for his second term) authorized the staff to issue a full power operating license for the Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant. Unit 2. (Fermi 2).

v Recently the Safe Energy Coalition of Michigan (SECOM) filed a 2.206 petition requesting the issuance of a show cause order by the staf f to Detroit Edison that would initiate an inquiry into the management and operation problems that fermi 2 has experienced. Jennifer Puntenney who represents SECOM will make a five minute presentation to the Commission this afternoon which will outline the concerns expressed in the petition.
