PROBABILISTIC RISK ASSESSMENT INSIGHTS - REV EW FOR IDENTIFICATION AND STATUS OF SAFETY ISSUES The enclosed final draf t report has been prepared by Brookhaven National Laboratory for the Reliability and Risk Assessment Branch, Division of Safety Technology. Prior to wide distribution of the final report, each NRR Divisic.n is requested to review the overall insights sumarized in the document. The purpose is to identify insights which may constitute new generit issues or specific safety issues which merit further investigation.
For those issues identified, the guidelines for action contained in Office letter No. 40 should be followed.
In addition, please identify those issues that are currently being pursued as part of the Generic Issue Program, those issues currently considered in other safety analyses (e.g., SRP), and those that are determined to merit no further action. DST is conducting a similar review.
In order not to unnecessarily celay issuance of the final report, I request that you complete your review by November 15, 1985.
A copy of your review should be sent to Sarah M. Davis. Ms. Davis is located in Room 212 of the Phillips Building.
