U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 South Texas Project Units I and 2 Docket Nos. STN 50-498, STN 50-499 Interim Security Plan for Fuel Storace. Fevision 3 In accordance with 10CFR70.32(e), Houston Lighting & Power Company is notifying you of minor changes to the Interim Security Plan for Fuel Storage at the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station (STPEGS). These changes do not decrease the effectiveness of the STPEGS security program.

(The Interim Security Plan for Fuel Storage supports NRC Materials License No.

SNM-1972 (docket #70-3016) which authorizes receipt, possession, use, delivery, and transfer of unirradiated fuel assemblies for use at STPEGS.)

The changes to the Interim Security Plan for Fuel Storage are as follows:

1) Upgrade of Nuclear Security Division to Nuclear Security Department.
2) Personnel title changes.
3) Clarified the period of time during which the Plan will be effective.
4) Minor editorial changes i

l Change bars are provided for other than minor editorial changes.

This Plan is designated as Pronrietary; the NRC is requested to ensure it is protected against unauthorized disclosure in accordance with 10CFR2.790(d)(1).
