Dear Mr Keppler:
As expected, our operators have reacted quite negatively to the removal nf the radios from the control room. They asked for time to discuss the matter with the CRGR Comittee which met at Monticello on August 6-7.
Vic Stello let them understand Mr Dircks' strong feel-ings on the matter, and he said he wouldn't hold out any hope that Mr Dircks would change his mind but he did recomend that I write a letter to Dircks.
Since Stello made that recomendation in the presence of the operators. I believe I must do so in order to maintain credibility with the operating staff. While Mr Dircks has taken a strong position on this, perhaps he will reconsider the alternative suggested in view of the negative effects on operator morale.
Sincerely,
<nsv fh
