fk This request refers to our AP-101 cask.
We plan to insert a supplementary shield within our cask in order to enable us to transport control rods.
The supplementary shield will consist of lead encased between h" thick steel plates as shown in the enclosed diagram.
The supplemental shield will be considered as part of the cask contents, i.e. the weight of the activated reactor components and the supplemental shield will be limited to 10,000 lbs. and decay heat of the activated reactor components will be limited to less than 300 watts.
The transport vehicle will be monitored when the cask is loaded and will not exceed a radiation level in excess of Part 49.
We request that you amend the package description to include shipnents of activiated reactor components withina a supplenental internal shield.
