Long Island Lighting Company, Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1, Docket No. 50-322-0L-5 This is in response to your request of September 2,1986, to make a limited appearance pursuant to 10 CFR 2.715(a) before the Licensing Board hearing the matter of the emergency preparedness exercise of the LILC0 emergency plan.

Please be advised that the Licensing Board has ordered the taking of limited appearances at Hauppauge, Riverhead and Mineola, New York on September 23, 25 and 26, 1986, respectively. Day and evening hours have been arranged at each location. Enclosed is a copy of the Licensing Board's Notice detailing the times and places for making appearances.

You are welcome to attend and make your appearance at any one of the locations on the dates specified.

As part of its next session, the Licensing Board has set September 24, 1986, for holding a prehearing conference at Hauppauge, concerned with legal issues, in which only the parties are to participate. In keeping with Commission practice the public is invited to attend.

Pursuant to the Board's Order of September 9,1986 providing for the scheduling of a prehearing conference in conjunction with the taking of limited appearances we set the following schedule for the session.

The schedule has been affected by the availability of adequate hearing facilities.

Hauppauge, New York, in the William H. Rogers Building, Suffolk County l

Center, Veterans Memorial Highway, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Limited appearances will be taken on September 25, 1986, at Riverhead, New York, in the Riverhead Town Hall, 200 Howell Avenue, between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
