SHAREHOLDER INFORMATION Shareholders As of January 31,1985, there were 192,023 common shareholders of record of Northeast Utilities. Dividend Reinvestment and Common Share Purchase Plan The company has a Dividend Reinvestment and Common Share Purchase Plan under which all common shareholders may use their dividends to purchase additional common shares. The company absorbs all brokerage fees for purchases under the plan. The Connecticut Bank and Trust Company, N.A., One Constitution Plaza, Hartford, Connecticut 06115, is the company's dividend paying agent and administers the company's Dividend Reinvestment and Common Share Purchase Plan. Under federal tax laws, certain eligible shareholders may elect to exclude up to $750 ($1,500 jointly) of the taxable amount of dividends reinvested in the plan.
