1.0 PURPOSE ne purpose of this calculation is document the predicted accelerations, crush depths and durations for the % scale drop tests scheduled for 7/7/99 at SNL.

3.0 DESIGN INPUT AND ASSUMPTIONS ne basis of the prediction is a beta model which derives from the alpha model used for the Ref.

(SAR Rev A) results and modified to reflect information obtained from 1/8 scale static testing. The alpha model is described in detail in Ref. (BNFLI.10.06.02).

4.0 METIIODOLOGY Spreadsheet pretest.xis gives details of the prediction. Spreadsheets are in the Attachment section, and each name is given in the upper left corner. Inputs such as dimensions and weights are given in terms of full scale equivalents. The relationship between full and fractional scale configurations is the A-4 case of Appendix B of Ref. (Mok,1995). Details of the Cdens and Cax spreadsheets used for the prediction calculat*ons are given in Ref. (BNFLI.10.06.02) and (CCV.2.3.3). Summary esults given No changes are made for certifiestion test results different from nominal, because the effect is common to both static and dynamic testing. The certification effect is accounted for in the static test.
