The Honorable Rick Santorum -
United States Senate -
Washington, D.C. 20510-3804
Dear Senator Santorum:
I am responding to your June 14,1999, letter regarding Freedom of information Act (FOIA) requests to Federal agencies from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC).
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has not received any request from the DSCC about Senators who are running for reelection in 2000. The NRC's FOIA records show that only one request has been received from the DSCC. The request was received in 1997 and asked for all correspondence with Representative Charles Schumer of New York from 1986 through 1997.
.With respect to your concerns regarding the personal privacy of your constituents, the NRC has and will continue to protect the personal privacy interests of all individuals as appropriate under the FOIA.
I Sincerely, b
