Dear Mr. Ellis:
This is in partial response to your letter dated August 28, 1986, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (F0IA), all records pertaining to NRC audits, inspections, or investigations of Transamerica Delaval, Inc., from 1974 to the present. This confirms the information relayed during the telephone conversation between you and Linda Robinson on September 4, 1986.
As Ms. Robinson explained to you, the NRC routinely places copies of inspection reports in the docket- files for nuclear power plants which are maintained in the NRC's Public Document Room (PDR) 1717 H Street,fM, Washington, DC 20555, where they are available for public inspection and copying. The NRC has also placed in the PDR records regarding this firm in responses to previous requests F01A-84-275, F0IA-84-459, F01A-84-544, F01A-84-554, F01A-84-886, and F01A-85-360.
In light of the above information, you stated your intention to visit the PDR to inspect these records and narrowed the scope of your F0IA request to records on this firm related to investigations by the Office of Investigations, activities by the Vendor Inspection Branch, and additional activities by the group headed by Carl Berlinger which were not already addressed under FOIA-84-554.
We will notify you upon ccmpletion of the search for records subject to your request.
