GN-1123), in response to USNRC I & E Bulletin 86-02, " Static
'O' Ring Differential Pressure Switches."
Per the request of USNRC Region II, Georgia Power Company wishes to clarify our earlier response. As indicated in our response to FSAR question 260.63 Georgia Power Company considers the terms " safety-related" and "important to safety" to be synonymous.
The only Static "0" Ring model 102 4
or 103 differential pressure switches in use at the Vogtle Electric Generat-ing Plant are in non-safety-related applications.
Their failure under pos-tulated environmental conditions would not affect the ability of safety-related equipment to perform safety-related functions.
There fore, these switches do not come within the definition of 10 CFR 50.49(b).
