The referenced letter transmitted an amendment request concerning containment atmosphere radiation monitors (CT-RE-31

and 32) and containment purge radiation monitors (GT-RE-22 and 33).
Attached herewith is a new Specification 4.9.4.2 (existing Specification 4.9.4 is renunbered as 4.9.4.1) which addresses NRC Staff concerns regarding the ODCM vs. post-accident isolation functions of the containment purg radiation monitors.
This now specification contains a setpoint concentration for containment purge isolation during core alterations or novement of irradiated fuel within the containment.
The Bases for new Specification 4.9.4.2, also attached, state that the setpoint concentration was chosen to limit in-containment whole body dose rates to 150mR/hr prior to purging during the applicable plant evolutions discussed above.
The referenced submittal remains unchanged, as the attachments represent an additional restriction in conjunction with the original amendment request.
An expedited review, in acknowledgement of our upcoming April outage, would be appreciated.
