Page 2 of 2 The purpose of this modification is to halt activity on Task 1 cnd Task 2 and replace these two tasks with Task 5, Task 6, and Task 7 at no additional cost to the Government in accordance with the Changes clause.under the contract and Scientech*s letter dated February 23, 1987.

Accordingly, the following changes are hereby niade:

TAKK 5:

Minimum Data Set Documentation.

This Phase 11 SBIR task will be to prepare a niiclear plant data blank forms manual.

l The content of this manual will be plant data entry forms

' required for the input of data into the Plant Data Entry System developed in Task 3.

The scope of the data will be that required for performing small break loss of coolant accident (SBLOCA) analysis.

The specific data items contained in these i

data entry forms will be defined by Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) under Task 2 of their NRC Nuclear Plant Data Bank (NPDB) Development contract.

The forms will' be designed such that they may be used by an engineer with a knowledge of plant components and systems.

This engineer need not have computer language knowledge nor knowledge of the analyticial codes such as TRAC, RELAP, and RETRAN.

TASK 6: Independent Software Module (s)

Testing.

This Phase 11 SBIR task will be to provide independent testing of the Nuclear Plant Data Bank (NPDB) software modules.

The NPDB software is being developed by Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) under an NRC contract.

This software is being develo' ped i,n a. modular mode, and, as part of the design phase, th'e functional description and interface will be dermed for each module.

As pan of the NPDB development, approximately 5 tests will be defined for a group of one or more modules.

The purpose of these tests will be to verify software complience with the module functional descriptions, and to verify software source code transportability.

These tests will be performed under this task by transporting the source code to another computer, recompiling with another FORTRAN 77 compiler, and j

performing the defined test.

Upon successful completion of cach test, a test results letter will be prepared for the NRC.

t TASK 12 Nuclear Plant Data Bank Document Plan. This Phase 11 SBIR task will be to prepare the Nuclear Plant Data Bank (NPDB) documentation plan.

The purpose of this documentation plan will be to identify doeaments, specifications, and schedules required for the proper development, change control, maintenance, and usage of the NPDB.

The approach will be to define documentation requirements, identify existing software development life cycle documentation standards, compare the requiremchtii to these standards, develop an efficient but functional documentation plan, and schedule the implementation of this plan.

Necessary pieces of documentation will be assembled under this task during Phase I of the NPDB development.

The final l

documentation will be generated during Phase II of the NPDB 1

. development.

DELIVERY SCHEDULE Deliverables under Tasks 5, 6, and 7 are due by September 30, 1987.
