Three Mile Island Nuclear Station Unit 1 (TMI-1)
Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Inservice Testing (IST) of Pur:ps and Valves This supplements our February 19, 1987 letter (5211-87-2020) on Inservice Testing (IST) and responds to our phone call of March 6,1987. We continue to desire to install IST Modifications "as soon as practical" and have determined the implenentation schedule discussed in our February letter can be improved.
The modification for the Diesel Generator Fuel Oil Transfer Pumps (Ref: NRC SER Appendix D, Item D.l.23) will be installed before startup from the 7R Outage. We have reviewed the schedule for the Boric Acid and Boric Acid Recycle Pumps (CA-P1 A/B and WDL-P13 A/B) (Ref.: NRC SER Appendix D, Items D.l.2 and D.l.4) and the most practical schedule remains as discussed in our February 19, 1987 letter which is prior to startup from the 8R outage.
These modifications have been scheduled and planned using criteria established for our Long Range Planning Program (LRPP).
This scheduling process achieves workload management on a "best effort" basis. These items have been added to the LRPP and are now protected by strict criteria governing any alteration to these commitment dates.
