Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. has designed a new tie-down arrangement as a proposed optional tie-down system for the CNS 8-120A radwaste shipping container.
The existing tie-down arrangement for this package is presently approved by Certificate of Compliance No. 6601, Rev. 21, dated February 10, 1986.
The description of the optional tie-down arrangement design and analyses performed to demonstrate compliance with applicable 10 CFR 71 requirements are contained in the enclosed Appendix A.
Also enclosed is payment in the amount of $150.00 (one-hundred and fifty dollars) for the initial application fee in support of this proposed amendment.
