On March 5,1987, the New Hamoshire House of Reoresentatives, in session convened, adopted House Resolution No.17, urgino the Nuclear Regulatory Comission to deny the petition of Public Service Comoany of New Hampshire, et al., to reduce the 10-mile emergency planning zone in radius of the Seabrook Station nuclear oower plant.

ANALYSIS The resolution urges the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to deny the petition of Public Service Company of New Hampshire, et al., to reduce the 10 mile emergency planning zone in radius of the Seabrook Station nuclear power plant. It directs that copies of the resolution be sent to members of, the New Hampshire Congressional delegation, the President, of the United.

States Senate, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and each commissioner of the Nuclear Regulatory Comission.

%.} ( 04 HR'17 N STAfg 0F NRW HAMPSHIRg In the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and alghty-seven A RESOLUTION urging the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to deny the petition of Public Service Company of New Hampshire, et al., to reduce the 10 mile emergency plcnning zone in radius of the Seabrook Station nuclear power plant.

1 Whereas, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission has adopted rules to provide 2 for the protection of the public health and safety which require that the ,

3 plume exposure pathway emergency planning zone for nuclear power plants 4 shall consist of an area about 10 miles in radius (10 CFR 50.41); and 5 Whereas, Pubile Service Company of New Hampshire has petitioned the 6 Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Atomic Safety Licensing Board for an 7 exemption or waiver of those provisions of the Code of Federal Regulations R requiring a plume exposure pathway emergency planning zone ln excess of one i

9 mile in radius of Seabrook Station, alleging that such requirements are  !

10 unnecessary; and 11 Whereas, the members of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, in 12 fulf111 Lng their obligation to protect the health and safety of the  !
