3-9-87 SOUTH TEXAS The following items are the TER input for the South Texas Initial Plant Test Program through FSAR Amendment 56 (11-86), SSER dated 2-87, and letter dated 1-9-86 (ST-HL-AE-1568) from M. R. Wisenburg (HP&L) to G. W. Knighton (NRC).

14.2-1 423.22 5.u Confirmatory based on 1-9-86 letter (involves 5.mm modification of this item and 640.08N, 5.mm, with regard to MSIV testing).

14.2-2 through 14.2-15 Closed.

SSER Item a. Closed (dealt with the deletion of the RTD Bypass Flow Verification Test; deletion acceptable due to plant design enodifications).

SSER Item b. FSAR 14.2.12.2.14, Main and Unit Auxiliary Transformer Acceptance Test, should be reclassified as a preoperational test as it has been modified to include testing of ESF-related components.

SSER Item c. FSAR Subsection 14.2.12.3.24, Loss of Offsite Power Test, should be reinstated (reference RG 1.68, Appendix A.S.jj and RAIs 423.33(n) and 640.30).

3-9-87 BEAVER VALLEY - UNIT 2 The following items are the TER input for the Beaver Valley-2 Initial Plant Test Program through FSAR Amendment 15 (3-87) and the SSER dated 11/86.

SER ITEM RAI STATUS 6 640.20 FSAR Stibsection 14.2.12.12.6 (Miscellaneous Safety Injection Motor-Operated Valves Control and Alarm Test) should be modified to ensure that the accumulator isolation valves can open under the maximum differential pressure conditions of zero RCS pressure and maximum expected accumulator precharge pressure, or technical justification for exception to RG 1.79, Preoperational Testing of Emergency Core Cooling Systems for Pressurized Water Reactort,,

Position 1.c(2), should be provided in FSAR Table 1.8-1.

14C Closed (Amendment 13).

14D Closed (Amendment 15).

14E Closed (Amendment 15).

14F FSAR Subsection 14.2.11.2 should be revised to reinstate that approved preoperational and startup test procedures will be available for NRC review at least 60 days prior to the scheduled performance of the test and at least 60 days before fuel load, s respectively (Amendment 13 modification).

14G Justification should be provided for exception to RG 1.68, Initial Test Programs for Water-Cooled Nuclear Power Plants, Appendix A, Parts 4.c, 5.f, and 5.e, respectively, in FSAR Table 1.8-1 (Amendment 13 deletions):

14I FSAR Subsection 14.2.12.53.1, Main Generator Test, should be modified to reinstate testing of the transformer cooling systems or technical justification should be provided for exception to RG 1.68, Appendix A, Part 1.g(1), in FSAR Table 1.8-1 (Amendment 13 deletion).

14J FSAR Subsection 14.2.12.66.2, Containment Air Recirculation System Test, should be modified to reinstate recording of containment air temperatures either during hot functional testing or prior to 5%

power, or technical justification should be provided for exception to RG 1.68, Appendix A, Part 4.j, in FSAR Table 1.8-1. FSAR Figure 14.2-3 currently shows such a test at 5% power (Amendment 15 modification).
