ALLEGATION N0. RIV-86-A-06 In June 1986, the VPB was notified of an allegation involving improper use of E-Brite 26-1 material in nuclear facilities. Subsequently, we contacted the alleger, met with him, and conducted an inspection at the manufacturer's facility. The results of these actions, which failed to substantiate the allegation, were provided to the alleger in November 1986.
In a letter dated December 4,1986, the alleger expressed extreme dissatisfaction with my efforts to date on his concerns.
In light of this, I feel our efforts in this matter would benefit from an overall review of my Branch's actions to assure that we are not overlooking any potential safety problems.
As we have discussed, please assign an engineer to perform a peer review of our actions to date and provide recommendations on what else, if anything, we should do to fully address the alleger's concerns.
