Georgia Power n ENCLOSURE TO SL-2138 NRC DOCKETS 50-424, 50-425 OPERATING LICENSE NPF-61, CONSTRUCTION PERMIT CPPR-109 V0GTLE ELECTRIC GENERATING PLANT UNIT 1, 2 SUPPLEMENT TO RESPONSE TO MISCELLANE0US ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION ISSUES The following information is provided to supplement Georgia Power Company (GPC) letter SL-2097 dated March 2,1987, which responded to NRC Region II correspondence RII-87-A-0018 dated February 10, 1987.

Specifically, the information provided herein supplements the response to Items 287001801 and 287001802.

This response and GPC letter SL-2097 are to be used in conjunction with each other.

SUPPLEliENTAL RESPONSE TO ITEM 287001801 In the response to Item 287001801 as provided by GPC letter SL-2097 dated March 2, 1987, GPC concluded that an apparent deviation of the site separation criteria had been identified.

The response further indicated that the deviation had been documented on Deficiency Card 1-87-743 and that an engineering analysis was being conducted on the appropriate resolution.

Deficiency Card 1-87-743 has since been dispositioned as a

" Rework" to provide the required separation.

The rework is currently in progress and is scheduled to be completed by March 11, 1987.

It should be noted that the minimum separation criteria for low level control or instrumentation circuits per the project design criteria is 1 inch.

Construction Specification X3AR01, Section E9, Attachment 2 allowed a 1 inch minimum based on testing performed and documented in Design Criteria DC1810, Paragraph 3.1.2.H and Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) Table

8. 3.1 -4.

SUPPLEMENTAL RESPONSE TO ITEM 287001802 In the response to Item 287001802 as provided by GPC letter SL-2097 referenced above, GPC concluded that there were two instances of non-safety related communications wiring for panel-mounted telephones on main control boards.

The response further indicated that Deficiency Card 1-87-783 was written relative to the wiring of the two telephones and that any corrective actions required would be addressed in a supplemental response to the NRC.

Deficiency Card 1-87-783 has since been dispositioned as a " Rework" to provide the required separation.

The rework is scheduled to be completed by March 11, 1987.
