20555 Gentlemen:
On December 13, 1985 (Log No. 1880), Toledo Edison was issued a Notice of Violation and Proposed Imposition of Civil Penalties for violetions reported in Inspection Report 85030 (Log No. 1-1293). By letter dated Jant.ary 27, 1986 (Serial No. 1-604), Toledo Edison responded to the Inspection Report for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. I and requested that mitigation of the fine in whole or in part be considered. On February 12, 1987 (Log No. 2206), the NRC responded by issuing Toledo Edison an Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penalties mitigated in the amount of 50 percent.
As discussed with J. Rodriguez, NRC, Office of Resource Management, Division of Accoenting and Finance, the four hundred fifty thousand dollar ($450,000) payment for the Order Imposing Civil Monetary Penal-ties will be made to the U. S. Department of the Treasury by the elec-tronic transfer of funds on or before March 14, 1987.
