The Commission was briefed by the staff on the December 9, 1986, Surry Unit 2 feedwater line rupture event.
The Commission made the following requests of the staff:
- 1. Provide the Commission information on scheduled completion dates for the generic issue on check valves. Consider elevating the issue on the priority list.

- 2. Provide the Commission with a list and intended staff approach for the 11 plants which have not submitted a commitment to inspect their piping systems for severe pipe
' wall thinning.
