Dear Mr. Grimsley:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act, as amended (U.S.C. 6552) filed on behalf of my elient, the Seacoast Anti-Pollution League (SAPL).

SAPL would like to obtain inf orma t ion relat ive to a meet ing ref erred to in answers provided to the Subcommittee on Energy Conservation and Power by NRC on November 10, 1986. A copy of the page referring to the meeting about which SAPL is request ing informat ion is appended hereto as " Attachment A." The meeting was held on July 30, 1986 between Senior Staf f Management of the NRC and New Hampshire Governor Sununu. Mr. Edward S. Christenbury, Esq. was also present at the meeting.

Specifically, SAPL would request:

1) that the names of all those at tending the meet ing be provided;
2) that any notes resulting from this meeting be provided; and
3) that any preparatory materials, such as agenda be provided.

The request for notes is intended to include not only official minutes, but any individual notes or minutes taken by any participant.

My client, though prepared to pay reasonable costs for the location and reproduction of the requested material, is of the belief that this request is of benefit to the public and therefore ought to be eligible for a fee waiver. This information is relevant to the issuance of an operating license for the Seabrook Nuclear Power Plant and therefore involves an issue of public safety significance. It is in the public interest that the information be released.
