Dear t:

Although New Hampshire Yankee has requested a reduction in the Seabrook EPZ, I wish to assure you that Governor Sununu and the New Hamoshire Civil Defense Agency are committed to maintaining the original ten (10) mile zone for planning purcoses for all 17 communities involved.

The current New Hamoshire Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) includes olanning docu:ents 'for flew Hamoshire towns extending somewhat beyond a ten (10) nile radius of the plant. This agency intends to continue to work with local communities to imorove and refine these plans. Through such cooperative efforts, we can ensure that these best-oossible plans are continually reviewed, tested, and improved.

I hone this allays any concern you may have had with Iesoect to the State of New Hamosnire's intentions for emergency planning around Seabrook Station.

The New Hamoshire Civil Defense Agency is, of course, receptive to any suggested improvements in these planning documents.

Sincerely, Richard H. Strome Director RHS/sje cc:
