SUMMARY
OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE On December 1, 1986, the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station, Unit 1 was operating at approximately 100% power.
On December 4, 1986, at 1100 hours0.0127 days <br />0.306 hours <br />0.00182 weeks <br />4.1855e-4 months <br />, a shutdown from 100% power commenced to repair the Reactor Coolant Drain Tank pumps. The reactor was shutdown at 1345 hours0.0156 days <br />0.374 hours <br />0.00222 weeks <br />5.117725e-4 months <br />. The generator was placed on line at 0100 hours0.00116 days <br />0.0278 hours <br />1.653439e-4 weeks <br />3.805e-5 months <br /> on December 6.
On December 19, 1986, at 1155 hours0.0134 days <br />0.321 hours <br />0.00191 weeks <br />4.394775e-4 months <br />, the shaft of the 'B' Main Feedwater Pump sheared. Power was reduced from 100% to 92%.
On December 31, 1986, the plant remained at 92% power while repairs were being made to the feed pump.
