t a r E v i-i The Babcock & Wilcox Corepany, Commercial Nuclear Fuel Plant is requesting a 10-day extension on reconciling our SNM physical inventory which was initiated on 11/14/86.
10 CFR 70.51(e) (4) requires that the inventory be reconciled within 30 calendar days.
The 10-day extension is necessary because we have had problems obtaining timely results on inventory samples sent to our analytical laboratory.
We have in fact had to resample items the week of 12/8/86 due to sample mishandling at the laboratory.
Therefore, it will be impossible to properly reconcile and complete the ID and LEID determinations within the 30-day deadline of 12-14-86.
As a result, we are requesting that we be allowed to reconcile the SNM physical inventory that was begun on 11/14/86 on or before 12/24/86.
This 10-day extension will allow enough time to obtain any outstanding inventory sample results and accurately complete our SNM inventory tasks.
Enclosed is a check for $150 to cover the licensing fee.
