Pressurizer Surge Line Stratification Monitoring Program

  • Purpose
1) To obtain temperature profiles (including stratification) in surge line during operation
2) To obtain piping displacement during operation
3) To obtain system information to correlate to surge line readings
  • Temperature monitoring

-RTD's used to obtain outside wall temperature

-Locations selected to develop profile for entire pipe

- At each location, circumferential temperature distribution obtained by several RTD's at various angles

-Frequency of Data recording selected based on expected temperature swings
