RELAP5/SCDAP Coupling Under this subtask, the RELAPS/SCDAP code will be decoupled and then recoupled using the PVM approach. SCDAP currentlyis embedded in the RELAPS/SCDAP code.

SCDAP needs to be decoupled to an independent code prior to future thermal-hydraulics code coupling. Decoupling of RELAPS/SCDAP will mainly be performed by the SCDAP contractor. ' Scientech needs to provide support and monitor the decoupling effort to ensure that the decoupled SCDAP code meets certain standards for the PVM coupling.

After decoupling of SCDAP, a RELAPS specific interface, a SCDAP specific interface and a general interface routines shall be' developed in the same manner as those for

ARCS /RELAP5 coupling.

The RELAP5 Specific Interface communicates with the General interface through PVM calls. It processes the control buffers and data for PVM, sending to and receiving from SCDAP. A process control for the coupled code also needs to be designed.

The SCDAP specific interface communicates with the General Interface through PVM calls, it processes the.:ontrol buffers and data for PVM, sending to.and receiving from RELAP5. A process control for the coupled code also needs to be designed.

RELAP5 and SCDAP communication will be through the General Interface. A current available General interface for PARCS/RELAPS coupling can be modified to meet the present needs.
