NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 70-1151/86-11 Thank you for your response of November 20, 1986, to our Notice of Violation issued on October 23, 1986, concerning licensed activities conducted at your Westinghouse facility. We have evaluated your response and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.
After careful review of the basis for your denial of the violation, we agree wi:h your position and have deleted the violation from our records. We also agree with your proposed actions for correcting problems related to this matter and that it is prudent to revise the Health Physics Operating procedure to provide the following:
- 1. More detailed descriptions of plateau determinations (alpha and beta),
- 2. Steps and criteria for counter performance checks (alpha and beta),
- 3. Steps necessary to determine the backgrout.d and detector efficiencies; and
- 4. Records maintenance.
