Temporary Change to Security Plan
Dear Mr. Russell:
Baltimore Gas and Electric Company on April 29, 1988 transmitted a temporary change to the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2,
Security Plan under the provisions of 10 CFR 50,54(P).
This temporary change was approved by Nuclear Rogulatory Commission, Region 1 letter of Ju'y 27, 1988.
This letter is to advise you that the new dates the security program is to be modified and updated are October 1988 through February 1989.
Since approval of the temporary plan ch ange entitled, "Security Upgrade Transition Plan",
an alternate engineering scheme has been developed for PHASE 3:
TRANSITION OF INTERIOR DOORS (Pages 6,13 23) that we intend to implement in lieu of the original submission.
The new schomo will enhanca security control and reduce impact on plant operations and safety during changeover.
This scheme will also eliminate the massive compensatory measures originally presented as part of this phase.

Baltimore Gas and Electric will proceed with the alternate interior door changeover and associated compensatory measures as described on the attached page.
PHASE 3 of the Security upgrade transition Plan will be maintained for use as a contingency measure in the event a major setback in the one-for-one changeover of the security doors is encountered.
