Exercise Report for the Ibcomber 8,1987, Exercise of the Offsite Radiological Emergency Preparedness Plans for the Edwin I. Hatch Electric Generating Plant Attached is a copy of the Exercise Report for the December 8, 1987, full participation joint exercise of the offsite radiolcgical mergency preparedness plans for the Edwin I. Ilatch Electric Generating Plant. The d plant is located on the northern edge of Appling County, approximately 75 miles west of Savannah, Georgia. The State of Georgia and Appling, Jeff Ihvis, Tattnall and Ibcmbs Counties, '.11 located in the 10-mile plume emergency planning zone, participated in the exercise. The exercise i report was prepared by the Ibgion IV staff of the Federal Dnergency Management Agency (FD1A) and includes the cannents of the Regional Assistance Cawnittee.

There were no deficiencies identified as a result of this exercise. The report identifies three areas requiring corrective action, as well as several areas reconnended for improvement. FatA Region IV staff will furnish a copy of this exercise report to the State of Georgia and will obtain a schedule of corrective actions. The Region will assure completion by tre State of the necessary corrective actions.

Based upon the results of the exercise, the Georgia State and local offsite radiological emergency plans and preparedness reain adequate to provide reasonable assurance that appropriate measures can be taken offsite to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of an accident at the Edwin I. Ilatch Electric Generating Plant and the 44 CFR 350 approval granted on !by 5,1981, remains in effect.
