IE Bulletin 85-03: Motor-Operated Valve Common Mode Failures During Plant Transients Due to Improper Switch Settings In accordance with Item (e) of the subject bulletin and as discussed in my letter to you dated May 8, 1986, the enclosed report is submitted. This report documents the design basis for the operation of motor-operated valves in the high pressure injection and auxiliary feedwater systems at the Trcjan Nuclear Plant as required by Item (a) of the bulletin. The pro-gram for completion of Items (b) through (d) of the bulletin by November 15, 1987, is also described in the report. A schedule of the completion dates for the separate elements of the program has been included.
