FAILURE OF REACTOR BUILDING COOLING FANS q
The licensee reported the failure of the "B" Reactor Building Cooling Fan on November 22, 1977. The "A" fan had failed earlier on June 2, 1977 (LER 50-313/ 77-13).
does not meet the Facility Technical Specification, LCO 3.3.4, requires two fans powered from independent buses, since the remaining two Reactor Building Cooling Fans, "C&D" are powered from the same bus "B6."
In accordance with Facility Technical Specification, LCO 3.3.6, the plant will be placed in a hot shutdown within 36 hours4.166667e-4 days <br />0.01 hours <br />5.952381e-5 weeks <br />1.3698e-5 months <br />.
The plant will remain shutdown for approximately 10 days. Plans include replacement of one of the two failed fans.
