Inservice Test (IST) Program Cooper Nuclear Station NRC Docket No. 50-298, DPR-46 References NRC Inspection Report No. 50-298/88-21 dated August 8, 1988 Gentlemen:

The refereaced inspection of the Cooper Nuclear Station (CNS) Inservice Test (IST) Program was conducted during June 20-24 and July 11-15.

At the exit meeting held on July 15, 1988, one of the open items identified by the inspectors was the submittal of a proposed echedule for implementing the IST procedures necessary to conform to Revision 5 of the IST Program.

This does not include those items still under negotiation with the NRC staff.

The District committed to submit the schedule to Region IV within 30 days.

However, the referenced inspection report, received August 11, 1988, indicated the schedule would be submitted by July 31, 1988.

The District regrets thi-misunderstanding.

Accordingly, a schedule for ptocedure update and implementation is provided (Attachment 1) with 33 procedures identified for revision and 7 new procedures to be written.

If you have any questions, please contact E. M. Hace. CNS Engineering Manager (402-825-5420).

Sincerely,

/N 81-G. A. Trevors Division Manager 8800240102 $$h90 Nuclear Support PDR ADOCK pgy CAT:KCWarg g
