The Commission was briefed by members of the ACRS on the following topics:

1.(a) Proposed (near term) Revisions to 10 CFR 50.59 (Changes, Tests and Experiments)

(b) Proposal for Developing a Risk-informed Framework for 10 CFR 50.59 2.

Options to Make 10 CFR Part 50 Risk-Informed 3.

Proposed Rulemaking on the Use of Revised Source Term 4.

Status of ACRS Activities Associated with License Renewal 5.(a) Impact of PRA Results and insights on the Regulatory System (b) Elevation of CDF to a Fundamental Safety Goal and Possible Revision to the Commission's Safety Goal Policy Statement (c) NRC Safety Research Program [ Restored by SAJ - GJD, EXM, JSM concur]

The Commission requested that the ACRS:

Provide a list of key questions and issues, which should be considered during the current 50.59 rulemaking effort. Any recommended answers or positions should be provided with the list; however, a lack of answers or consensus on recommended positions should not delay producing the subject list.
