DOCKET NOS. 50-445 AND 50-446 PURGE GAS OVERPRESSURIZATION OF THE CONDENSATE STORAGE TANK AND REACTOR MAKEUP WATER STORAGE TANK SDAR: CP-87-116 (SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT)

Gentlemen:

On Mare' 30, 1988, we notified you via our final report logged TXX-88343 of a reporcable deficiency involving the postulated failure of the nitronen aurge regulating valves which could overpressurize the Condensate Storage "nc (CST) and the Reactor Makeup Water Storage Tank (RMST). Our latest report s a this subject was logged TXX-88547, dated June 30, 1988.

The purpose if this supplemental report is to advisa you of potential changes to our previously discussed corrective actions.

We are currently evaluating alternatives to the installation of safety-related relief valves as corrective action for this deficiency.

Upon conclusion of our evaluation we will advise you of any revisions to the corrective action and the implenentation sch9dule. Our next report on this issue will be submitted no later than October 14, 1988.
