4 JOSEPR M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT-UNIT 2 NARRATIVE SIDNARY OF OPERATIONS August, 1986 During the month of August, there was one unit shutdown which
- occurred on August 4, 1986.' A reactor trip occurred due to simultaneous-
" General Warnings" on both trains of the Solid State Protection System
. during testing. The A train General Warning was due to the. testing in progress. The B train General Warning was due to a faulty secondary disconnecting contact (SDC) on the B train reactor trip bypass breaker.
The SDC's have been replaced.as needed.
The following major safety-related maintenance was performed in the month of August:

Miscellaneous corrective and preventive maintenance was.
performed on diesel generators.
2.
A bearing oil leak was repaired in the 2A motor driven auxiliary feedwater pump.
