Dear Mr. Chairman:
i In my letter of May 16, 1988, I assured you that the Comission would keep you infonned on the status of the investigation pertaining to the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant.
On July 7, 1988, the Assistant United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama reported that his office had filed a Motion in the U. S. District Court in Montgomery, Alabama. The Motion requested that the Alabama Power Company show cause as to why they should not be held in contempt of court for not honoring subpoenas issued by the Office of Investigations (0I) to Alabama Power Company employees being represented by Thomas W. Christian, Esq. The Court entered the Order on July 11, 1988.
It will be served shortly on eight of his clients.
