'88 JUL 19 P5 :37 MEMORANDUM FOR:
Sherwin Turk, Senior Supervisory Q[g ] g,yf Trial Attorney anAsey Office of General Counsel FROM:
John A. Schumacher, Senior Emergency Preparedness Specialist, Region I
SUBJECT:
Recollection of the July 30, 1987 Regional Assistance Committee (RAC) meeting concerning the Seabrook Beach Population My recollection of the Seabrook Beach Population issue which was discussed at the July 30, 1987 RAC muting is as follows:
It was clear to me from the discussions that took place, that the RAC members were in disagreement with the RAC Chairman, Mr. Edward Thomas, concerning the Seabrook beach population.
Participating RAC ruembers, including Mr. Robert Bores, the NRC Region I RAC member for Seabrook Station, believe that the New Hampshire Emergency Response Plan provides n
provisions which adequately protect the Seabrook beach population in the V
event of a radiological emergency at Seabrook Station. Mr. Thomas disagreed with the RAC members and stated that further review and discussion on this matter was necessary.
To date, this matter has not been further discussed by the RAC.
I can not rccall the specific details of the disagreement between the RAC members and the RAC Chairman as I did not retain my notes from the meeting.
