l AMENDMENT 24 CHANGES TO APPENDIX 9A 1.
General a.
Revised the analysis to reinstate the fire zone within a fire area concept to allow proper:
o Quantification of combustibles o
Identification of fire detection systems o
Identification of fire suppression systems b.
Updated the analysis with current combustible loading information.
c.
Replaced the postulated fire evaluation with an evaluation of the safe shutdown capability for a fire in the area.
This new approach:
o Assumes a " worst case" postulated fire o
Defines the safe shutdown train that is free of fire damage o
Defines any special operational and design considerations o
Defines the spurious actuation considerations d.
Defined the existence and specifics of the fire detection systems in each fire area on a fire zone

Defined the existence and specifics of the fire suppression systems in each fire area on a fire zone

Updated the ventilation discussion to reflect the availability of the smoke removal system.
