ACCEPTANCE FOR pEFERENCING OF LICENSING TOPICAL REPORT WCAP-8720 ADDENDA 3 "!MPROVED ANALYTICAL MODELS USED IN WESTINGHOUSE FUEL R0D DESIGN COMPUTATIONS / APPLICATION FOR BWR FUEL ANALYSIS" i We have completed our review of the gado11nia material properties described in the subject topical report. We find these gadolinia material properties are acceptable for referencing in license applications to the extent specified and under the limitations delineated in the report and the associated NRC evaluation which is enclosed. The evaluation defines the basis for acceptance of the gadolinia material properties, but not for a complete approval of the report since the report deals with other changes to analytical fuel models which were outside the scope of this review. -
We do not intend to repeat our review of the matters described in the report and
, . found acceptable when the material in the report appears as a reference in j license applications except to assure that the material presented is applicable to the specified plant involved. Our acceptance applies only to the matters described in the report.
In accordance with procedures established in NUREG-0390, it is requested that Westinghouse publish accepted versions of this report, proprietary and non-proprietary including this evaluation when the whole report is approved. The accepted versions should incorporate this letter and the enclosed evaluation between the title page and the abstract. The accepted version shall include an -A (designating accepted) following the report identification symbol.
