Additional Work Requirements Task 5: Rod Bundle Geometry Work specified under Task 4 entailed designing, constructing the test facility and taking data for the flat plate geometry to support preliminary model development.1 his work shall be continued under Task 5, and is considered complimentary to the work with the more complex roi bundle geometry.

Subtask 5.1: Test Plan The Test Plan written under Task 3 shall be modified by the incorporation of the tests with the rod bundle and any further runs with the flat plate and shall be submitted to NRC in both text and electronic format.

Subtask 5.2: Design The rod bundle geometry shall be designed and constructed. Work on this subtask shall not begin entil February 1,1999 (unless otherwise instructed by NRC), so that NEC has time to determine if a rod bundle larger than the proposed 2x2 desigr6 is necessary to meet NRC's ojective. This geometry and any modifications made to the facility design shall be documented as additions to the letter report of Subtask 4.2 (Experimental Design) and submitted to NRC in both text and electronic format.

Subtask 5.3: Measurements The test plan shall be followed and data taken. All data taken under Task 5 shall be incorporated into the database developed under Task 2 and 4 and delivered to NRC in a format that is compatible with the NRC Databank along with documentation, as described in Subtask 2.2. The model shall be consistent with the two-fluid formulation that is the basis of the NRC thermal-hydraulic codes.

The results of this activity shall be documented in a letter report in both text and electronic format and submitted to NRC. Any subsequent modifications to tr.e test plan shall also be documented as revisions to the test plan.
