SUBJECT:
INTEGRATED MATERIALS PERFORMANCE EVALUATION PROGRAM (IMPEP) REVIEW OF FLORIDA RADIATION CONTROL PROGRAM This memorandum transmits to the Management Review Board (MRB) a proposed final report (Attachment 1) documenting the IMPEP review of the Florida Radiation Control Program. The
. review of the Florida program was conducted by an interoffice team during the period '
February 22-26,1999. The team issued a draft report to Florida on March 19,1999, for factual comment. _ Florida sent factual comments by letter dated April 6,1999 from Sharon Heber, M.P.H., Director, Division of Environmental Health (Attachment to proposed final report).
. Based on the findings, the review team recommends to the MRB that all performance indicators be found satisfactory. Additionally, the team recommends that Florida's program, as a whole, be considered adequate to protect public health and safety and compatible with NRC's regulatory program.
The MRB meeting to consider the Florida report is scheduled for Thursday, May 20,1999 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., in Two White Flint North, Room T-2-B-5. In accordance with Management Directive 5.6, the meeting is open to the public. The agenda for that meeting is attached (Attachment 2).
