BRAIDWOOD INSPECTION REPORT 50456/99006(DRP); 50-457/99006(DRP)
Dear Mr. Kingsley:
On April 13,1999, the NRC completed an inspection at your Braidwood Units 1 and 2 reactor
facilities. The enclosed report presents the results of that inspection. During the 6-week period
covered by this inspection, your conduct of activities was generally characterized by safety-
conscious operations, sound maintenance practices, and careful radiological work controls.
However, there was a configuration control error that resulted in the isolation of the Unit 1
!
emergency boration flow path through the designated boric acid pump for a period of about
three hours. This error revealed that the procedure for adding boric acid to the Unit 2 boric acid
storage tank was inadequate for the circumstances and resulted in a Non-Cited Violation.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the

enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
