In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 2.780(c), the Board advises parties to this proceeding that on Friday afternoon, June 27, 1986, a conference call was initiated by NRC Staff Counsel and FEMA Assistant General Counsel H. Joseph Flynn. AGC Flynn indicated that FEMA was interested in a continuance of these proceedings for offsite emergency planning issues until October 1986. Judges Hoyt and Harbour were present in the Board's Office on June 27 and advised FEMA to submit its Motion in writing and to state fully its reasons supporting the Motion.

On June 30, 1986, FEMA Counsel personally served on The Board, Motion by FEMA for Continuation of Hearing on Energency Planning Contentions. The Board will require all parties wishing to submit responses to this Motion to submit simultaneous responses for in-hand 8607020245 860630 PDR ADOCK 05000443 G PDR Tso2

delivery to the Board no later than July 10, 1986. The Board expects parties to address " reasons" 1 and 2 on pages 3 and 4 of FEMA's Motion.

Comments will be required from' Applicants and State of New Hampshire or a statement that these entities do not take a position on FEMA's Motion.1 FOR THE ATOMIC SAFETY AND LIC SING BOARD
