SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-445/99-09; 50-446/99-09

Dear Mr. Terry:
This refers to the inspection conducted on April 19-23,1999, at the Comanche Peak Steam
Electric Station, Units 1 and 2, facilities. The purpose of this inspection was to review your
radioactive waste effluent program and engineered-safety-feature air filtration testing program.
The enclosed report presents the results of this inspection.
We determined that releases of radioactive waste effluents were controlled, monitored, and

quantified well. Engineered-safety-feature air filtration and adsorption units were properly
'
tested and maintained.

in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its
'
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR).
