In a telephone conversation on September 22, 1998, between j

P Greenman, TVA, the reactor and senior reactor initial licensing examination scheduled for the week of October 19, 1998, was rescheduled for the week of February 8, 1999.

On September 29, 1998, TVA submitted a letter confirming the new examination schedule.

In the initial NRC letter which scheduled the October 19, 1998, NRC examination week, NRC requested the preliminary application information be submitted at least 30 days before the first examination date.

Therefore, based on the new examination date, TVA is providing the requested preliminary applications and medical certifications for NRC review.

Preliminary applications and medical certifications are enclosed for Donald C. Smith, Kenneth J.

Pierce, Steven W. Russ and Clayton L. Whitworth II.

Signed applications will be submitted at least 14 days prior to February 8, 1999.
